The following bases are available on 100g braids. Check individual colour listings for fibre base.

Polwarth - Polwarth fibre is delightfully springy but so so soft.  Polwarth has its breed origins in a cross breed between Lincoln and Merino sheep which means it has softness from the Merino, but some lustre and length from the Lincoln.  It is absolutely next-to-skin soft for most people, and after spinning it puffs up delightfully!

Grey Merino - This fibre has a cool grey tone before dyeing, meaning it takes rich deep colour beautifully.  It has a 23 micron count, which means it has a little more body that your typical super-soft Merinos, and it is soft while being less "slippy" than traditional Merino roving.  Merino is one of the most popular spinning fibres, and this variety won't disappoint!

Rambouillet - Rambouillet is known as the French Merino, so it's extremely soft and easy to wear, with very little itch factor for most people.  It's classed as a fine wool, and it has a really lovely crimp and body to the fibre, meaning it really blooms after spinning.  It's less "slippy" than some Merino fibre can sometimes be, so it's a great choice for all levels of spinner.

These fibres are not Superwash treated, so they will felt.  Please take care when washing this if you are NOT looking for a felted application!
